Dorothy aged 80 is Matthew's mother Dorothy Willis who married
William Storey in 1780. Dorothy was to die aged 85 in 1846. Matthew
and Sarah had lost two sons, William 1839-1840 & William Collinson
b. 1841 d. Mar 1842, then Sarah herself was to die in Aug 1842.
The next family is that of George and Frances (Walton) m. 24 Nov 1835.

(married 28 Oct 1788 ), and some of her `children' still living at
home. It is not really known for certain just which house this family
lived in, but it is thought (*1) that Thomas' shop was at Oak Tree

The baptism of George is recorded as 27.10.1850, so once again,
there's a slight discrepancy in years. Jane was bapt. 30 Sep 1860,
the daughter of Ann. Ann appears in the Bastardy sessions in April 1862,
confronting William Lye, shoemaker of Wensley, and probably the father
of Jane.
Henry and Elizabeth have had four additions to their family since
1851, and are living at the Brick Shades (aka Tile Sheds) This is
along the Church Lane, beyond the Church, close to Woodend Farm.

Henry Storey of the Brickyards had died in April 1868 aged 43, but
son James continued with the business. Roofing tiles made by the
Storeys were seldom used in Redmire....slates being the major roofing
material to this day in the village. However, some of the Storey
tiles were used in the construction of Leyburn Town Hall (*1)

The explanation of first wife Esther's death is probably also

there a burial record at Redmire.
