Firth
A stray Firth appears in 1881, lodging with the Smithson family:
Name | Relationship | Age | Occupation | Birthplace |
SMITHSON Hannah | Head, Widow | 42 | Grocer | Redmire |
SMITHSON Isabella | Daughter, Unmarried | 17 | | Redmire |
FIRTH Lucy | Lodger, Unmarried | 35 | Teacher | Norwich, NFK |
|
If Lucy was teaching at Redmire school, she would have been an
assistant to John Dinsdale, who was headteacher from 1876-1886.
Nothing is known of Lucy's origin, although she could be the
Lucy Firth born December quarter 1845, Norwich registration
district volume 13. p 264.
