Ann Pattinson was born Ann Horn, probably the baptism for Nancy Horn, daughter of William and Ann of Redmire, 5 June 1796. She married Richard Pattinson 22 July 1822. Richard's parents are unknown.

Age 9 is a bit young for daughter in law--it is assumed the enumerator (or the family) meant step-daughter. Mary Ann Pattinson was baptized 11 November 1851, daughter of Elizabeth, with no father listed. In the petty sessions of February 1852, Elizabeth Pattison made claim against William Dobson of Leyburn for fathering Mary Ann.

Elizabeth Smithson is nee Pattinson, the daughter of Richard and Ann (nee Horn), Ann as seen earlier on the 1851 census.

James and Elizabeth's child Mary was baptized 23 September 1855.

Pattinson
