Henry Craddock was baptized 7 February 1813 in Grinton, son of Henry and Elizabeth, nee Hird. In April 1856, he married Catherine Horn, daughter of Thomas Horn and Betty Peacock, Catherine having been baptized 17 April 1822 in Castle Bolton.

Henry is now the only Cradock in the village, his mother Catherine having been buried in Redmire 19 September 1884, aged 62. Henry's sister Elizabeth has also died, buried in Redmire 15 July 1887 aged 28. Sister Ann married Thomas Milner of Preston under Scar, 5 April 1885.
